RBS Sales Incentives


The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) is one of the retail banking subsidiaries of The Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc. The bank has around 700 branches, mainly in Scotland though there are branches in many larger towns and cities throughout England and Wales.

The Brief

RBS wanted to increase team performance and card acquisition as well as providing their top performers with an attractive incentive to aid activity.

Our Solution

Working with Motivates the bank chose to run a competition for NatWest/RBS front-line staff which focused on team rewards across England, Scotland and Wales. The initiative was designed to create team engagement and promote the commercial card product. Across five UK territories, Motivates created bespoke team event packages enabling winners to select from a variety of Experiences. The teams were then measured against performance within each of their areas, and the results were published to drive the competition. Motivates also provided an individual Experience for the top performer in the UK.

When the campaign ended, Motivates contacted all winners, facilitated the selected Experiences and managed the logistics of the events.

The Result

This activity was highly successful for RBS, the campaign delivered 12% uplift in target business. A spokesperson for RBS said:
